How to get there

In spite of La Palma's geographic distance, it counts with several communication means making of this island a more accessible and nearer place for those interested in knowing its landscape beauty and its people’s charm.

The main transportation mean is the plane, due to its speed, frequency and number of connections at the regional, national and international level. The ship, which less frequent and slower, is in occasions more comfortable when offering the option to travel with the car, a very advantageous alternative above all in connections among islands.

La Palmais approximately located 35 minutes away from Tenerife by plane and 50 minutes from Gran Canaria. Approximately 2 hours and a half from Madrid and 4 hours from Central Europe.

La Palma Airportoffers connections with the Islands of Tenerife (Northern and Southern Airports), Gran Canaria, El Hierro, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.

It also counts with direct Iberia flights from Madrid and it should be remarked that during high seasons the national flight frequency increase is very important.

By ship

The port of  Santa Cruz de La Palma is connected to Santa Cruz de Tenerife (north of Tenerife), Los Cristianos (South of Tenerife), San Sebastián de La Gomera (La Gomera), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Gran Canaria), Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) and Arrecife (Lanzarote). 

The duration of trips is in the range of three hours through fast services to Tenerife and two days and a half through the service to Cádiz.

Trasmediterránea also operates a weekly link to the port of Cádiz.
